Creating satisfying relationships is one way to cope with the difficulties of life. Experiencing the closeness we can share with others can become one of the greatest joys on our journey.
Before you dismiss relationships because you are introverted and connectivity takes hard work, that it creates anxiety and therefore is too difficult, I want here to say that I struggle too. I empathize with you. Socialization does not come natural to all people.
But do not discount the importance of social connections throughout your life. Humans are wired to connect, and this connection affects our health [source]. Our mental, physical, and emotional health can all improve by strengthening relationships with others.
When you surround yourself with love interests, family, and people you trust, you gain support. Social activities increase our self-esteem and provide a cushion against stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness. When we share with others, we learn that we are not alone.
